The week for an epic bore

Tuesday, Mar 28th

A week of rain brings the promise of fantastic bore surfing for the end of March 2006. By tomorrow night the river Severn at Gloucester will be in full flood. This week's spring tides will hit a full downriver freshwater flow to produce superb conditions for potentially epic bores through the horseshoe bend from Boatyards to Eland. Unusually high tides and the possibility of continuing gales up the estuary through to the end of the week may combine with the flooded river to give us the conditions we've been waiting for some of the best Severn bores for some years.
